Happy One Month Birthday to our sweet Addi! It has been one amazing month with my two girls. Getting to know my new sweet baby and making lots of memories with my girl Franki. We are so in love with this new babe. She is an angel. She does a lot of sleeping and eating but overall snuggles and sleeps as well as we can expect an infant to do. It has been an amazing break so far. We have spent many days outside enjoying the sunshine and warmth. How lucky am I so far, it has been the most amazing weather ever for march! There have been many days that are challenging and moments where I wonder what the heck I was thinking having two under two, but honestly it is so worth it. There are a few things I have learned that come wth having two under two. When getting kids into the car or ready to go we lock and load the car with the garage closed (otherwise we might have a toddler on the loose). On occasion if we have plans momma has to get up before the kids get up to get ready, otherwise you end up looking like a mom with two under two (a.k.a food on shirt, little to no-makeup, smelling like spoiled breast milk, you know the usual :)) Lots of planning and organization goes into everyday. If we set to the plan then we typically have little meltdowns or tantrums. We mostly just require lots of love and attention to both of my girls which is the best thing a momma can give. Im learning and loving so much from both of my girls they teach me new things everyday and I love them even more for helping me see the world through there eyes.
Things I want to remember about my girls at this age:
Addi: She has the most inquisitive eyes. When she is awake, she really is wide awake and loves watching her sister. She has the strongest head and will lift it up for 30 minutes just to see what her sister is doing. She has all eyes for her sister. She really seems to concnetrate on what she is looking at it, almost studying it. She sleeps like an angel. She curls up in a small ball on your chest and her breath syncs with mine. She nurses like a champ in about 5 minutes which means more sleep for both of us. She likes to be bundled for sleep at night but her arms all splayed out during the day sleep. She loves to her pacifiers (which franki calls bobby). She makes very sweet sleepy faces, her top lip always sticks out over the pacifier and she is just as lovey as her sister was. Cant wait to see what the next month brings.
Franki: She is using about 30 signs. She also has about 40 words now. She is so smart. She understands everything. She is very goofy making funny faces all the time, she kissed everything goodnight (the magnets on the fridge, her books, adii, everything). She has recently become afraid of loud noises. She loves making funny faces puckering her lips, fish lips, sticking her tounge out. She also loves to tickle Addi's feet. She says WOW to pretty clothes and anything new. She continues to be a very animated little love bug. When she is being shy she sucks her thumb and chews the front of her shirt. She loves taking care of her babies, wrapping them up in blakets, carrying them around, burping them, giving them bottles and pacifiers. She takes very good care of them, she is a little mommy to her dollys. She loves to DANCE and SING and loves a large variety of music from classic kid songs to country to rock. She can find a reason to dance to any melody. Franki loves to play with the stethoscope. She likes having you listen to her belly or to listen to your belly. She tells everyone where she wants you to sit and to sit here all the time. She especially likes to dictate where Addi sits. I love this girl and she is such an amazing big sister and helper.
Loving my time off. Enjoy some of my maternity leave so far.
